Yarn over hook

My friend bluebell wants to crochet round the edges of a pair of pillowcases . She is a novice at crochet so she is embarking on an ambitious task . ( O if she would only hold the yarn correctly , she sort of knits with the retort " my mum used to do it like this")
I have sorted out some simple edgings that I didn,t use a pattern for . this way you can do what you fancy on each round . She wants to take this project with her on holiday next week . I will await her return with baited breath .

  5. I'm sorry to reply here but I couldn't answer your question that you asked on my blog because you came up as 'no-reply'.

The gal who did the longarm quilting for me charged $30 which included the batting. I supplied the backing fabric and she did an all over pantograph of a small feather design. Usually I would hand quilt something this size but because of the many pieces creating several layers, it just didn't lend itself to hand quilting...so I took the easy way out and I'm happy I did because I just love the way it turned out.

I just love your crocheting, something I've never learned to do. Your projects are simply gorgeous.

  6. These are just beautiful!
Oh yes, you asked about whether I like to get right into a project when I find some beautiful crochet work! Strike while the iron's hot or I lose my idea and enthusiasm. *sigh*

You have such a beautiful collection of needlework here! Gorgeous!

    Hugs, Diane

  7. PS: I can crochet, but I've never learned how to hook it to the edge of fabric as I crochet it. Is that how it's done or are the edgings always sewn on by hand afterwards?

  9. Hi Cottonreel,
Thanks for the trip to my blog, those pillow cases are stunning.
I have considered a hysterectomy to solve the problems, but I would be wary about the anaesthetic, being a pound or two (ahem, cough ,splutter) over the recommended weight.
I should give it some thought again soon maybe.
